KITCHEN REMODELING

Remodeling your kitchen is a project for professionals

Your kitchen is the social hub of your home. Some of the most intimate moments that are shared by family and friends happen in the kitchen and if you are considering a kitchen renovation in North Jersey there is one company that has the experience and the professional attitude needed to make sure that your needs and concerns are heard and addressed before, during and after the construction process.  That company is AllState Home Improvement, LLC.

Communication is key

Every home improvement project starts the same way: you call a contractor, have a sit-down meeting, and discuss what you want to have done. You discuss your budget and try to get an idea of the timeframe when the contractor will be available to start.

You try to tell the contractor everything you want to have done when you remodel your kitchen, and you do your best to give him your vision for the finished project. You’ve spent months planning for this dream project, and you’ve covered all of your design basics.  The question is:  Is the contractor listening to and understanding your dream or is he worried about a section of the job that he has no experience with and trying to figure out how to get around doing it?

At AllState Home Improvement, LLC, we have successfully remodeled multiple kitchens and understand that a professional remodel starts with a great relationship. Relationships in a construction project are the same as any other – they require open communication. You will find that we are transparent in everything we do.  We consider the opportunity to work in your home a privilege, and we won’t take advantage of that.

Hire a contractor that has remodeled kitchens before

There is no substitute for experience; especially specific experience. Renovating a kitchen will typically require extensive knowledge in almost every trade in residential construction, beginning with the initial planning of the project.

As a bare minimum, the job will involve electrical and plumbing that must be eliminated, relocated or amended.  The contractor you choose will need to be familiar with all code requirements to ensure that your home and family stay safe during the construction period and for the life of your home after the work is done. We know North Jersey building codes.

An experienced contractor will also know these things

There will be questions to answer:

  • Is the electric supply panel big enough to handle any new appliances or lighting that will be added?
  • Will there be issues with drain and supply on the plumbing side of the project?
  • Can your existing subfloor handle the extra weight of new cabinets or ceramic tile flooring?
  • Are any of the walls that you want to be moved structural?

Hire a contractor with a vision

You have some great ideas about how your new kitchen should look.  But wouldn’t it be nice to have a second opinion on your design?

Are you going to get new countertops or do you just need a new backsplash?  Are your existing kitchen cabinets in good shape, or does it make sense to install new doors? Maybe you should go ahead and replace all of the cabinets? How about a new farmhouse or apron sink? Will your existing cabinets support the extra weight?

There’s new lighting to consider and all the decisions that need to be made concerning floor coverings and paint colors.

For years, we have been involved in the process of helping people design and build their new dream kitchen, as well as remodel their existing kitchen, and we want to help you with yours.
